Advance familiarization with the scan room, sounds and steps of the process to reduce uncertainty for children and families.

Why preparation matters
An MRI examination requires the patient to remain still in an unfamiliar, noisy environment. For children, uncertainty itself can increase apprehension. Virtual preparation introduces the room and examination sequence before the appointment.
What the child can experience
A scenario can show the scanner, play sample sounds, introduce the team and let the child practice entering and lying down. Explanations from a nurse character, short questions, and breathing or relaxation exercises can be included.
A complementary tool for the team
VR does not replace a medical explanation or professional decisions about sedation. It can serve as an additional preparation tool, helping the child and family develop a clearer picture of what will happen.
Designing a tailored process
Content is adapted to age, language, medical-center policies and the patient journey. Preparation can take place at a clinic, at home or in a waiting room, depending on needs and available equipment.
